Well its another new day in Korea. Everyday here is so different. Even though I do a lot of the same stuff everyday because of work, its still so different here everyday. Always something new to learn, something different to do, or something weird to eat. And this city seems to be a city that never sleeps. People are out all night and all day. There is a constant noise coming from the streets outside where I live, whether it is traffic, or screaming drunk koreans, the noise never stops, and the energy here is constant.
Something else thats so different for me is being the minority. People stare at me everywhere I go. It's like they have never seen a white person before, and maybe they haven't. And sometimes I feel like a wild animal who escaped from the zoo. Some people even go past just staring and touching me. Do they think a white persons skin feels different I don't know.
Yesterday I ate pizza and the crust was green. At first I was hesitant to eat it because in my mind green is associated with mold. But a coworker of mine told me its just healthier because its green, although they could not even tell me what exactly it was that made it green. I ate it though and it tasted the same, so whatever it was it didn't change the taste just the color.
Oh and another thing. I miss driving. i have to walk everywhere or take the subway. And the subway is always so crowded. Sometimes its shoulder to shoulder. But thats how people get around. This city is so crowded.
Oh and I learned another valuable lesson yesterday when I recieved my phone bill. Do not call the US on your cell phone just because you can........
